7 RANDOM THINGS

ayla
tagged me because somebody else tagged her and so on and so on... Alright.  Now my turn!

Here are 7 random and/or weird things about me.

1.  Cheezits would be the hardest food for me to give up.  I don't think that is spelled correctly,
but I have eaten every box, so have none to refer to!  My first cheese cracker love was
Jamaica's cheese crunchies.  (An article in the Jamaica Gleaner references cheese
crunchies!) I grew up on that and salty banana chips.  (You can buy
these online straight from the Chippies store!  See what I find out through ayla's tagging
me!)Then, I fell in love with cheese nips (reduced fat of course) and now cheezits.

2.  General Hospital is the only tv that I watch.  The actors are like my extended family.
At times, I think about them and dream about them.  I dreamed about Jason Morgan
last night (I have no idea what the man’s real name is!), looking sad and forlorn after
his mother threw him out of the house, calling him a murderer and no son of her’s.
Awwwww, I’m so sorry Jason!  I would never do that to you if you were my son!  GH
helps me see the drama in life with a touch of humour.  I so appreciate the brilliance
of the acting and love all of the crazy antics that the characters get themselves into.
I look on in amusement and total detachment, as they get themselves out of one mess
      after another.

3.  Jason’s sad eyes (my continued General Hospital ramblings) inspired a poem that I
wrote this morning.  Guess which one if you can!

4.  Every time that I see India’s picture, I cry!  All of my spare change will go for her,
     sweet kitty!  Here's India!

5.  From Daytona Beach to Orlando this Tuesday, I threw up a record-breaking 7 times!
Once while we were rounding a corner by the traffic light.  I skillfully opened the door
and got it all outside.  Just like a crazy nut, I was conscious not to get anything on
my poor hubby’s car!  Must be a female cleanliness thing!  In the midst of being sick,
we still make time to house-clean!  No links and photos for this entry.  Thank goodness!

6.  I am going back home to Jamaica for a month for the Christmas holidays.  Terrible chore I
know, but somebody has to do it!  Might as well be me!  I will stay two weeks with my
mother and brother in Kingston and two weeks in the country at the beach.  Yeah!
Somewhere new in Ochi called Chillin’ at Old Fort Bay (my girlfriend gave us a 4 bedroom
townhouse at a 2 bedroom price!), and my favourite, Silver Sands.   We splurged and are
renting a house right on the beach Santa Margherita Villa.  Cool, huh?!

7.  I went to a 5 night silent retreat with Adyashanti this August.  After each satsang, there
was a question and answer period when you could come up to the mike.  I wanted to meet
him.  I didn’t really have any burning questions.  I started searching inside, I guess to
create problems, so that I would have a question to go up to the mike with!  Crazy!
However, I was nervous and did not raise my hand.  What I began to notice though, was
that all of my questions started being answered through other people or by him, or by
myself.  At the end, I relaxed, happy to be there.   If I am still and quiet long enough,
answers arise on their own.  Beautiful to see... Glad to know too that I don’t have to create
problems, or drama to meet anybody.

Done.  Finito.  Now it's your turn....

*The list grows as Joy Bringer tags me yet again... I could pretend that I have left for my month long trip to Jamaica, but.... I'll give it a whirl...

7c.  Joy Bringer

Okay, here are two more facts...

(1)  In college, I got arrested for DWI in Tampa, Florida (1981 or 1982).  Never mind that I thought that I was back home in Jamaica and so was driving on the left side of the road.  Never mind, that I had no shoes on and almost drove off of a bridge.  Never mind that I had been drinking from the afternoon until the wee hours of the morning.  Never mind that I sat in the back of the police car and somehow slipped my wrist out of the handcuffs.  Never mind all of that.   I was really mad at the policeman for charging me, because I knew that I passed the road side sobriety test and I knew that I recited that alphabet perfectly!  My poor brain must have been mush that night.  I had seen my boyfriend kissing first another girl on the dance floor and then later, another guy!  I was not amused and detached like when I watch General Hospital!  After my friends dropped me back at the dorm later on, I got back in my car to go and confront my soulful boyfriend, Beau!  First time I ever drove drunk.  Usually, my friends drove my car for me and I happily sat as a passenger.

I spent the night in jail and like a 19 year old drama queen, I refused to call anybody to bail me out.  Wounded by the antics of my boyfriend, I decided that I would just rot in jail!  Somehow, 2 of my friends found me and my car and bailed me out.

I received 6 months probation and had to attend DWI Counterattack school.  The whole time that I attended the school, I was thinking about going out dancing and drinking.  Not one cell of repentance or awareness.   Someone else always drove, but I had no intention of quitting anything.  I didn't even enter my mind to do so.

Being even more unaware and unconscious, I left the country while I was on probation and sent my probation officer a post card from Jamaica!  I waltzed back into his office a month later, clueless that I had even broken the law again, telling him about my trip home!

(2)  Happy to report that 27 years later, I am more conscious and aware.  God, I sure hope so!   Also, I am delighted to report that I have not drank any alcohol, smoked a cigarette, or done any other exotic substances since 1985.   Can't see the point really... I don't need any help feeling confused or unclear!

Well, that's it from me.  If anybody else tags me while I am in Jamica (11/29 - 12/27), my additions will have to wait.  My mother's computer is from the dark ages.  My cousin and I laughed at how small the screen was last Christmas.  It's like 6 inches by 8 inches!  No, it's not really that bad, but it is incredibly slooooooowwwwwww!

Salty banana chips are the best!  Try them Catherine.  I hope that you will be delighted!  Chippies are my favourite brand.  I was back home in Jamaica for the past month and looking forward to my chips.  Alas, due to the hurricane earlier this year in JA, the banana crop took a beating.  I was sad!
