Celebrating Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to fathers everywhere!
I loved Father’s day. My father was so easy to please. A can of shaving cream and he was happy. I think that he valued the caring and the sincerity of the giving and was therefore content with whatever came. He always made us feel like he appreciated us and our efforts and that anything we gave was perfect.
He quietly and systematically carved out his path in the world. Diligent, honest, devoted. I cherish his quiet strength. Even though I cannot see you anymore, I will love you forever.

One Father
To God, our Creator,
Father of us all.
Thank you for the many gifts that You have given,
Including my earthly father.
Thank You for the beauty of the trees,
The rustling of the leaves.
Thank You for the many and varied creatures.
They teach me much about love and compassion.
Thank You for the people who enrich my life.
The lessons and treasures are always there.
Though sometimes not plain to see.
Thank You for Your Almighty presence.
It never wavers or demands.
It is simply pure and true...
Like a soft, shining light that beckons and glows.
Drawing me ever forward like a moth,
Recognising the heart and soul of its life desire
And that which eternally calls me home.
Thank You Father.
