On Prosperity

Another jewel that I uncovered today as I am re-reading a beautiful book by Eric Butterworth called "The Universe is Calling: Opening to the Divine Through Prayer." This excerpt is on prosperity ( a little lengthy, but well worth the read, in my humble opinion!) Too cool for me not to include in my blog! From what I learned in twelve-step programmes, take what you like and leave the rest!
"For a prosperity need: First, we need to get out of the pie-in-the-sky concept of prayer that suggests a Brink's truck rolling up to your door bringing bags of currency and coins. There is no magic and certainly no miracle involved in the demonstration of abundance in our lives. Prayer deals in consciousness. When you have a lack of consciousness, you inhibit the natural flow of the universe in your life. This consciousness frustrates jobs and salaries and general income, as a beaver's dam effectively blocks the flow of a stream. And when you have a prosperity consciousness, you are consciously in the flow of the abundance of the universe that rushes and streams and pours into you from all sides.
There is no lack in the universe. Lack is simply a state of mind that separates us from the divine flow. Don't let lack become a part of your prayer. Know the truth of omnipresent supply. Don't pray for lack, unemployment, or failure, for this serves to emphasize them and treats them as if they were real. Let your prayer be to establish you in the awareness that you live and move and have your being in a sea of infinite substance, as a fish lives in water.
There is a divine mind counterpart for every human need. There is an answer for every problem, substance for every financial requirement, and a job for every willing worker. The economic indicators may not tell you this. You need to tell it to yourself, for economics is a spiritual process. As far as your experience in the marketplace is concerned, you make the difference.
Take time, occasionally, to visualize yourself settling comfortably in the universal flow of substance cascading into you and through you. Then you might want to speak the word of truth: "I am prospered and successful." Not to make it true, but to identify with that which is true."
How cool is that!
Love,
Nicola

A thoughtful blog Nicola, cool indeed
Glad you enjoyed it too! I am just loving this book the second time around. Years later, I am in a different space and appreciating the book on a whole new level. It's an awesome read! I'd be on this computer all day if I wrote down everything that my heart resonated with! Funny how you find what you need when you need it…
I adore Eric Butterworth!
Have a couple things of his in my blog also =)
Thank You for sharing~~<3
You and me both Ariela! Several years ago, I was part of a wonderful book study at Unity with Butterworth's “Discover The Power Within You.” That gave me a wonderful desire to discover what else spirit had to offer via this incredible man! Several books later, now I know!
Okay, I'm off to play treasure hunt in your blog again! Already been there this morning and found that incredible post “A Letter to Awakening Humans by Tobias” Glorious read!
He has a beautiful mind, I love his way with words.
Umm…good luck finding my Butterworth blogs, those were posted in soon after joining Zaadz/Gaia and I'm not sure if I tagged things properly at first :-D
Oh I HAD to post that Letter! Just saw it in my mailbox and was the first thing I did this morn! HAD to share that! Lots of Juice in that, glad you drank some ;-)
Thank-you Nicola! What I will take from this is to start visualizing consciousness and abundance flow through me - I already picture a blue/violet wave :)
I love the feeling of that colour flowing through. Thanks Teresa, glad you found some good in the words.
Ariela, I never found Eric B in your blog, but boy did I have fun exploring! I have a funny feeling that you and I would have been up to much mischief in school together!
Here you go, Nicola…Butterworth's works…
My favorite, ”Celebrate Yourself!”
The Divine Equation
The Universe and You
Be A Center Of Love
and The Unconditioned Power
=) Happy Reading…these are such precious essays to me!
Ooh, life is good! I'll read them later, but already the feeling that my cup overfloweth!
Thanks Ariela!
For leisure reading, of course ;-)
Hmm…mischief in school? Errrrr… :-D
I once took toilet paper with a friend and used it to make nice curtains in the stairways. :-D
LMAO :-D
Innocent stuff, really.
Just as I suspected!
Every once in awhile I burst out laughing at some silly nonsense that a “good” parent is probably supposed to frown on. I guess I failed the parent etiquette class!
By the way, I love my reading assignments so far Miss!
LOL.
Oh come on, that's innocent fun…I was such a repressed kid…my creativity came out in unexpected ways :-D
Happy to share more Butterworth with another appreciator ;-)
